Cecil Cheves 60th Birthday

Cecil Cheves and I graduated as members of the Cumberland Class of 1974. We have been friends ever since. Cecil has managed to balance the life of a successful lawyer with a passion for physical fitness. A few years ago, Cecil ran a marathon a month for a year. He and I have also done some triathlons together. (Cecil wins but he is younger).

Cecil plans to celebrate his 60th birthday in a very unique way. He is going to run 60 miles, bike 60 miles and swim 60 laps, all in the course of a 24 hour period. He is undertaking this incredible task to raise money for the West Georgia Honor Flight which is a group that takes World War II Veterans to Washington DC to the recently completed memorial honoring their service to the country.

Cecil is an outstanding example of the kind of lawyer I want our students to be. He has balance in his life and understands the importance of giving back to the community. Join with me in wishing Cecil luck on his 60th birthday fete and congratulating him in advance for what he is doing to help WWII vets.
