An introduction to the nature and sources of international human rights law, focusing on United Nations human rights treaties and implementing bodies. Topics for analysis also include the theoretical and historical foundations for human rights norms; problems in investigation, fact-finding, and enforcement; treatment of international human rights law in domestic courts; regional human rights treaties and tribunals; individual remedies for human rights violations; and, the evolution of economic, social and cultural rights.
