Dean's BlogForeign Programs and Faculty and Alumni News - July 29thLast week's blog gave me the opportunity to highlight our Cambridge Program. This week gives me the opportunity to let you know about a relationship between Cumberland and one of the top law schools in India, NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad. Cumberland joined with NALSAR in hosting an international conference held in India on children's rights. Cumberland was represented by Professor David Smolin who is an internationally recognized expert in the field of children's rights with particular expertise in inter-country adoptions. Visit to the Cambridge , England Summer ProgramAs I write this, I am a bit jet-lagged but incredibly excited by my visit to Cumberland's summer program at Sidney Sussex College at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England. First, the facilities are first rate. Second, the substantive program is outstanding. I am convinced it is one of the finest summer programs of any law school in the country. Professor Bo Cole deserves a tremendous amount of credit for all the effort he has put into making the program such a success. First Ever Dean's BlogAfter years of cursing blogs as the downfall of our civilization, I have decided to join the ranks of bloggers and create the Dean's Blog. I plan on posting a blog once a week. The blog will focus on our alumni and happenings here at the law school. I will also use the blog, from time to time, to comment on issues in legal education. In addition, I will use the blog to report the individual successes of alums. I hope that you, our alumni, will let me know about your successes so I can include them. |
