Director of Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law Community Mediation Center and Public Interest Project (CCMC/PIP).

A graduate of Fisk University (BA, 1986 - Nashville, TN), Meharry Medical College (MSPH, 1988 - Nashville, TN) and The University of Tennessee School of Law (JD, 1992 – Knoxville, TN).

Before joining Cumberland in November 2005, Ms. Adams worked as a Restorative Justice Trainer for the Community Justice Institute at Florida Atlantic University, a Volunteer Mediator with the Office of the State Attorney, 4th Judicial Circuit of Florida, a Project Director for the Victim-Offender Reconciliation Project (VORP) for the Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts, the Director of Admissions at The University of Texas School of Law, and the Assistant Director of Admissions at Vanderbilt University School of Law.

As the CCMC/PIP Director, Ms. Adams manages the community mediation center and the public interest/pro bono activities of the law school. Ms. Adams joined the Board of Directors for Alabama Appleseed in January 2009. She also serves on the Alabama State Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyer’s Committee, is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee and is an active member in the Magic City Bar Association (2008 Treasurer), and the Alabama Lawyers Association. She also serves on the Dean’s Alumni Advisory Council for The University of Tennessee School of Law, and is a member of the American Bar Association. In January 2009, Ms. Adams completed two years of service on her neighborhood association’s board of directors. Ms. Adams enjoys the companionship of her husband and their two sons.
