Cordell Hull Speakers Forum: Gideon v. Wainwright
On Thursday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. in the John L. Carroll Moot Courtroom, John Lentine ’87 will be the first speaker of the 2013 Cordell Hull Speakers Forum. This event is free and open to the public.
Please join the members of the Cordell Hull Speakers Forum and the American Journal of Trial Advocacy for a lively one-hour conversation with Lentine, a partner with the law firm Sheffield & Lentine PC. Lentine will discuss Gideon v. Wainwright, a Supreme Court case that ruled the Constitution requires the states to provide defense attorneys to criminal defendants. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the case.
Lentine is a 1987 graduate of Cumberland School of Law. He is a past president of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Among his many achievements, he is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® specializing for non-white collar and white collar criminal defense.
