Cumberland National Trial Team Wins American Association for Justice (AAJ) Regional Trial Competition

At the AAJ regional trial competition in Texas, two hundred twenty-four (224) trial competition teams were divided into fourteen (14) regions with sixteen (16) teams in each region. Only the top team from each region advances to the National Finals to be held March 18-21 in New Orleans.

Cumberland took two teams to the Dallas, Texas regional. Team members Shannon Cornman, Timothy Douthit, Megan Murren, and Reanna Todd won the region by beating Baylor in the final round. They defeated South Texas in the semi-final round. The team went undefeated in the tournament and Shannon Cornman received special praise for her demeanor. 

The team of Beau Darley, Amanda Kistler, Daniel Milton, and Brandon Prince narrowly missed advancing to the semi-final round by 1 point. Other teams in the region were from Birmingham School of Law, Faulkner, Louisiana State, Loyola New Orleans, Southern Methodist, and Texas Wesleyan.
