Dean Carroll Announces “Pride. Promise. People.,” a $15 Million Capital Campaign
Birmingham, Ala., -- In an email to alumni, friends of the law school, faculty and staff, Judge John L. Carroll, dean and Ethel P. Malugen Professor of Law, announced the launch of Cumberland School of Law’s capital campaign public phase.
“The goal is to raise $15 million for academic programs, student scholarships and faculty enhancements,” stated Judge Carroll.
The campaign, “Pride. Promise. People.,” runs through December 2014. The campaign executive committee chairs are Stan Starnes ’72, ProAssurance CEO; Governor Albert Brewer, distinguished professor of law and government and professor emeritus; and Brad Bishop ’71, law professor.
“It is time to reach out like never before to those who can give more to support an accessible, exceptional legal education,” said Starnes in a Birmingham Business Journal article.
Gov. Brewer said in an al.com article about the campaign, “Securing the academic programs and superior faculty to support those students remains vital.”
