The Law School Remembers a “Creative, Relentless and Caring Advocate”
“She gave me my freedom. I couldn't have asked for a better lawyer.”
“…creative, relentless and caring advocate for those whom some viewed as the least among us.”
These are the words used to describe Cumberland School of Law Class of 1980 alumna Lauren Becker in an article by Nick Lotito that appeared in the Daily Report.
“Lauren died an untimely death from cancer recently, but the way she lived her profession and life is a shining example to everyone of the kind of lawyer I want our graduates to become. She used her power as a lawyer to help the powerless in our society,” said John L. Carroll, dean and Ethel P. Malugen Professor of Law, in a recent letter to the Cumberland School of Law alumni.
Please join the law school’s community as we celebrate Lauren's life.
