Law Students Place Fourth at the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- Congratulations to Cumberland School of Law’s Black Law Students Association [BLSA] members, pictured from left, Steven Miller, Jerrika Jones, Danny Patterson, Jr., and Chris Weaver for their fourth place finish at the Southern Region Black Law Students Association Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition in Nashville, Tenn.

The competitions started with 30 schools from across the southeast. The Cumberland team went five hard fought rounds and advanced from the semi-finals to the national qualifying round. The Cumberland team missed qualifying for the national rounds by one place, the top three teams continued. The Cumberland team received much praise for their professionalism and trial skill.
