Each year, a distinguished Cumberland Alumni is invited to spend two days on campus as The Lawyer In Residence.  Pat F. Dye Jr. ’87 has accepted the honor for 2009 and will share his expertise in sports management with students on October 19 - 20.  He will meet with students in both formal and informal settings, allowing students to augment the traditional curriculum with experiences of a current practitioner.

Dye is the founder and President of ProFiles Sports, Inc., which is based in Atlanta. After graduating from Cumberland School of Law in 1987 with a sterling academic resume and a top five class ranking, Pat combined this lifelong background in football with his legal training and was instantly successful as a sports attorney.  He currently represents 45 NFL players, 13 of whom have been recent Pro Bowl selections, and has negotiated nearly two billion dollars in NFL contracts.
