National Trial Competition
Cumberland School of Law, the Trial Advocacy Board, and the American College of Trial Lawyers will host the regional rounds of the National Trial Competition (NTC) the weekend of February 18-20, 2011.
“The NTC was established in 1975 to encourage and strengthen students’ advocacy skills through quality competition and valuable interaction with members of the bench and bar. The program is designed to expose law students to the nature of trial practice and to serve as a supplement to their education.” (NTC Website)
The top two winners of the fourteen regional competitions will compete in the National Trial Competition April 6-10, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Twenty-six teams will compete in our Region, and all trials will take place in downtown Birmingham at the Jefferson County Civil Courthouse. This is a great opportunity for students to learn and to meet with some of the best legal practitioners in the state. Student witnesses are needed for Saturday morning.
