Summer Saad Moot Court Competition
On the weekend of August 7 - 8, 2010, the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board hosted its summer Saad Competition in which oral arguments were heard on the issues of venue transfers due to pretrial publicity and the limits of the Confrontation Clause in ongoing emergencies.
The competition in the semifinals and finals was remarkably close. Katie Kimbrell, a rising 2L, won the competition and Gerri Plan,also a rising 2L, was first runner-up. The competition was judged by Dean John L. Carroll, Professor LaJuana Davis, Cliff Nelson '10, Phillip J. Carroll, III, partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, and Jeff Doss '09.
