Vanderbilt Law Professor to Speak in Brock Forum
Vanderbilt Law professor Daniel Sharfstein, an expert on American legal history, property, and race and law, will be lecturing in Brock Forum, Wednesday, March 7 at 3:00 PM. Sharfstein will speak about his 2011 book, "The Invisible Line: Three American Families and the Secret Journey from Black to White."
The lecture comes just weeks after a Pew Research Center study revealed that marriage across racial and ethnic lines is increasingly common, but Sharfstein reveals how individuals and whole families commonly crossed the "color line" in earlier centuries.
The lecture is free-of-charge and open to the public and is sponsored by Cumberland School of Law and the Howard College of Arts and Sciences.
