Basic Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university prior to entering the first-year of law school. Baccalaureate degree accreditation can be searched at the U.S. Department of Education:
  • Applicants must have taken the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) within the last five years. A February LSAT score in the same year of the starting fall enrollment date will be the last LSAT score considered for that term.  For example, a February 2012 LSAT score will be the last score considered for fall 2012 admission
  • Applicants will need to register with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) and register for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS). LSAC’s website is Applicants will need to make arrangements for LSAC to receive and compile their letters of recommendation, transcripts from all the colleges and universities attended and LSAT score.
  • Applicants will need to complete the Cumberland School of Law application and all that is entailed in the application instructions by the required deadlines. Application will include a personal statement, a resume and any addendum(s) if required.
